Have you ever thought you will start a new life away from your hometown after you almost achieved your goals?

I have never thought I would have married a foreign person and completely left my family I love deeply and the dream job I had in Taiwan. However, I made the tough decision to come here and started making my own family roots. Also, this life in the U.S. has been changing me a lot as soon as I came.

Starting a new life is mostly like having a new garden. And the difference is this garden has to fit society here. Those social changes are exactly what I have changed since my feet touched the ground.

First of all, my life goal has changed. I am now coming to school to get more education and better working knowledge in order to find a dream job. Second, the way I am thinking is more wide open for different point of view. For example, I always thought you had to work hard to get a better job or better chance. But I have changed this point of view by working with a group at work. Working smart and teamwork are more important and effective than working hard alone. Third, as a traditional Chinese, I have to think and negotiate the culture differences. Understanding others form different cultures is also a change I have here.

In general, I have changed a lot from everything that happens around me. Lots of people don’t like to be changed or don’t accept a big difference in their life.

America changed my life direction and I enjoy writing the new chapter by creating new lifestyle, doing a dream job, thinking differently, and having good efforts of my changes.
